How to Refresh your Website for 2023

New Year, New You, and perhaps a brand new website!

Just like you evaluate your life and what you want to let go of, keep or improve for the New Year, it’s time to do the same for your website.

Here are a few things you want to do to refresh your website for 2023:

Refresh your Website for 2023

1. REDEFINE YOUR GOALS

Take time to dig deep and rediscover your Mission + Vision for your business to make sure your website is aligned with your new goals for 2023.

This is the perfect time to evaluate your offers, pricing, and ideal client and see if there’s anything you want to add, change, or take away from your business model this year.

2. CHECK YOUR ANALYTICS

Instead of guessing and throwing spaghetti on the wall to see what sticks, check your analytics to see what’s working and what’s not. See what pages are getting the most traffic, which buttons are getting the most clicks, and which pages are converting the most.

This data will give you the information you need to make your website even better so you can reach your goals.

3. CLEAN UP + DECLUTTER

Now it’s time to get cleaning! Go through every single page of your website and delete any broken links, archive sales pages of offers you’re no longer offering, and adjust prices if necessary.

Also make notes of the changes you need to make to make your website even better, and don’t forget to check your mobile view!

4. UPDATE YOUR TESTIMONIALS + PORTFOLIO

When was the last time you updated your testimonials?

After a whole year, you probably have a ton of new incredible testimonials that need to be added to you website.

And if you’re a designer or photographer, also update your portfolio with your new client projects!

5. REVIEW YOUR COPY

Read through all of your copy and check to see if there’s anything you want to change to keep your messaging fresh + aligned with your current goals.

Also go over your ideal client avatar to see if there’s any changes to the previous year and make sure to adjust your marketing and messaging to reflect them.

6. EVALUATE YOUR BRAND VISUALS

Is your brand feeling stale?

This is the perfect time to review your brand and see what needs tweaking. This could be some minor changes like switching up one of your fonts or adjusting your color palette...

Or maybe it’s time to hire a branding expert for a full rebrand!

7. REFRESH YOUR BRAND PHOTOS

New Year, New You means new brand photos for your website!

Photography makes a HUGE impact on your website and it’s important to keep your photos looking fresh. The longer you leave the same photos on your website, the less of an impact they’re going to make. So just like you would touch up your hair at least once a year, I recommend doing a photoshoot every year to keep your website up-to-date and on brand.

I know it’s an investment, but it’s a necessary one if you want your website to keep making a powerful impact year after year.

8. UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE

Last but not least, your website is your online home and it’s where we want to make a killer first impression. If your website no longer brings you joy, it’s time for an upgrade.

And if the thought of redoing your website makes you want to pull your hair out, no worries, that’s what I’m here for!

Your time + energy is better spent serving your clients, so leave the website to an expert like myself.

So if you’re ready to UPLEVEL your Brand + Website for 2023, let’s create an online presence that helps you stand out + sell out!
