How to Keep your Brand Consistent on Insta

A powerful brand is cohesive, consistent, and built with your ideal client, values, and personality in mind. This is what makes you UNFORGETTABLE.

So how do you keep your brand consistent so you become your ideal client’s first and ONLY choice?

Here are some quick tips:

How To Keep Your Brand Consistent on Insta

  1. CREATE A COLOR PALETTE

There's a whole psychology to colors.

They each have their own unique meaning and evoke a different emotional response, which is why you need to be intentional when choosing your brand colors.

So once you build a color palette, you MUST stick to it across all social media platforms, website, pdfs, course slides, webinars, labels, packaging, etc.

Color Palette Guide: You want to choose anywhere from 5-8 colors. You want 1-2 primary colors, 1-3 secondary colors (this is your contrast or complementary color), and 2-3 neutrals (any combination of neutrals that go with your brand + balance out your palette).

Pro Tip: Make sure your color palette isn’t all light or all dark. This will create a really flat, one dimensional brand. If you want it to stand out, you need a mixture of both to create contrast + balance.

2. SELECT YOUR FONTS

Fonts have their own personality. They can be masculine, feminine, whimsical, modern, bold, and the list goes on...

So just like with your colors, once you pick your fonts combo, you MUST stick to them CONSISTENTLY across all platforms.

How many fonts should you have you ask?

I recommend choosing 2-4 fonts: One for your header, sub-header, and body. You can also add an additional script/bold font to use sparingly as an accent or as your sub-header.

I know it’s tempting to use a cute new font you found on Instagram on your posts, but if it isn’t one of your 3 brand fonts, do yourself (and your brand) a favor, and DON’T use it.

3. DEFINE YOUR CONTENT PILLARS

But first, what are content pillars?

Content pillars are 3 to 5 topics your brand will consistently discuss and create content for on social media.

Your content pillars should be a clearly defined, cohesive thread that support your products or services. A lack of cohesion will result in vague content that isn’t targeted towards your ideal audience. And as I’ve said before, when you talk to everyone, you talk to NO ONE.

Your content pillars should be closely linked to your value proposition to ensure brand consistency + clarity. This will not only help you grow your account, but also help attract your dream clients.

For example: As a Branding + Business Coach, my pillars are branding, web design, messaging, marketing, and spirituality. All my content is around one of those pillars.

4. INVEST IN A BRAND PHOTOSHOOT

If you want the aesthetic Instagram feed, you need professional brand photography.

Your photos bring your brand to LIFE.

Not only do they showcase your unique personality, but they also capture your brand colors, vibes and aesthetic. They also convert 90% higher than stock photos or your most recent travel pics that aren’t even related to your brand.

The longer you leave the same photos, the less of an impact they’re going to make. So just like you would touch up your hair at least once a year, I recommend doing a photoshoot every 1-2 years to keep your photos up-to-date and on brand.

I know it’s an investment, but it’s a necessary one if you want to keep making a powerful impact year after year.

5. HIRE A BRAND DESIGNER!

If you’re still struggling to keep your brand consistent or are just flat out uninspired with your current brand…

Hire a brand designer to take out all the guess work in creating a brand, website, and online presence that magnetizes your soulmate clients consistently!
