4 Signs your Brand Looks Unprofessional

4 Signs your Brand Looks Unprofessional

Does your brand look UNPROFESSIONAL?

Maybe you DIYed your brand, used a Canva template, or hired a designer but weren’t really happy with the results.

Whichever it is, your brand is not attracting your ideal clients and giving you RESULTS.

So if you’ve been wondering if your brand looks professional, here are 4 mistakes you might be making and how to fix them!

  1. NO BRAND STRATEGY.

I know I sound like a broken record by now, but you need to be CONSISTENT with your branding.

So what does it mean to have brand consistency?

You ALWAYS use the same fonts, color palette, logos, graphic elements, photography, and messaging across ALL of your marketing platforms.

So if you find yourself always tweaking your fonts or color palette to match the latest trends or because you’re just completely lost on how to create a cohesive brand…

It’s most likely that you have no CLEAR STRATEGY because you have not gone through the process of creating a strong brand foundation. Your visuals are simply a reflection of that.

So if you want to create a strong brand, here’s your homework:

  1. Get clear on your brand’s mission, vision, why, and values

  2. Create your brand story

  3. Define your ideal client

  4. Discover your brand style + personality

Once you complete those steps, you are then able to design a brand identity that reflects captures your strategy.

A powerful brand will help you:

  • Attract your soulmate clients

  • Builds your credibility

  • Positions you as the expert

  • Makes selling a breeze because your audience already knows, likes, and trusts you

2. NO BRAND CLARITY.

The perfect visuals are not enough without equally powerful MESSAGING.

So if you’re not sure who you want to attract, your messaging is most likely too vague to resonate with anyone.

This is why it’s so important to define your ideal client.

Here are the 4 most important questions to help you define your ideal client:

  1. Who is your ideal client? Demographics: Age, gender, location, income, occupation, married/single, do they have kids, etc.

  2. What are their biggest pain points + struggles? What stresses them out on a daily? What makes them cry at night?

  3. What do they really WANT? What are their biggest dreams + desires? Dig below the superficial ones for these, what do they *really* want?

  4. What do they NEED? What do they need in their life RIGHT NOW? You're offers should be targeting your dream client's needs & wants.

3. LACK OF ALIGNMENT BETWEEN YOUR VISUALS, PERSONALITY, AND VOICE.

Listen up!

If you have a personal brand, your online presence should reflect WHO YOU ARE.

It should showcase your personality, unique essence, and values.

If you sound like a completely different person online vs in person, then there is a lack of alignment between your visuals, personality, and voice.

If you’re constantly attracting the wrong people who are not ready to buy or think your services are “too expensive,” it’s not you, it’s not that you’re not good enough, it’s not your mindset…

It’s everything we’ve talked about previously, and there is something in your brand strategy, messaging or visuals that needs tweaking to attract your soulmate clients.

Most of my clients come to me saying, “My brand + website just doesn’t feel like me at all.”

This is a HUGE problem that is hurting your credibility and costing you clients.

4. UNPROFESSIONAL BRAND VISUALS

If you said yes to the first three, you most likely haven’t worked with a brand designer who focuses on STRATEGY first to create a powerful brand + website to showcase YOUR unique essence.

Truth is…

It’s easy to find beautiful logos and website templates. Just go on Creative Market or Etsy and you’ll find thousands.

The problem with these is that they were created to be pretty, not to work with YOUR brand.

  • They were NOT created to reflect your story, mission, and values.

  • They were NOT created to showcase your unique personality + essence.

  • They were NOT created to attract your soulmate clients.

  • They were NOT created with your offers + industry in mind.
